Since its establishment in 1953, Schweizer Präzisions-Motorenteile has manufactured a total of 140 million high precision engine and power steering components. On June 1, Karl Christian Schweizer began manufacturing valve guides for the german automobile industry and the spare parts market on Gartenstraße in Nellingen near Stuttgart. A strong commitment to quality and precision helped conquer the european market, after which other areas of the world were targeted. In 1958, the monthly production of valve guides surpassed 100,000 for the first time. In the following year, more that 1 million engine components were manufactured. This increase in production made it necessary to move to larger and more modern facilities: In 1959, Schweizer GmbH moved into its current home, Lerchenbergstraße 15. Today, after several expansions, our manufacturing plant where 60 employees make approx. 11 million precision parts per year has a total size of 4,500  m² (= ca. 36,000 sq. ft.).

In the early sixties, we started producing parts for power steering assemblies, especially Valve guides. The steering parts division developed positively in the following years, which led to our producing bending bars and - in the mid 80's - torsion bars for modern power steering assemblies as well. Just a few years ago, we also started manufacturing a whole steering component: the PCF torsion bar. In the production of all parts, Schweizer GmbH uses state-of-the-art techniques like rotary swaging and laser welding. Our steering parts are used by customers in Germany and other european countries, south-east Asia, and Latin America. In 1971, after his father's death, Heinz Schweizer became the head of Schweizer GmbH. Today, the third generation of the Schweizer family is active in this Swabian family owned business.

Here at Schweizer GmbH, we believe in always using state-of-the-art machines and manufacturing techniques. For example, we have been incorporating the CNC-technique into our manufacturing processes since the early 80's. New technologies are being tested and used in all areas, and are constantly being optimized through the experience and know-how we have gathered over the years. To ensure stable quality, we have applied the principles of total quality management, which led to our being certified according to DIN EN ISO 9002 in the year 1998. Our customers, too, have been rating us a grade A quality manufacturer for years. State-of-the-art production facilities, outstanding quality and highly qualified employees enable Schweizer GmbH to react flexibly to all customer demands. We are proud to be a reliable partner to all our customers both in Germany and abroad.
